Repo Organization

This page is used to define the repos used for ArchServer and what characteristics will be used to allow applications access.

  • Server-Core: Core OS
  • Server-Extra: All applications not needed to get a server installed and running
  • Server-Community: Community supported PKGBUILDS that have not been deemed necessary to put into AS Standard repos
  • Server-Testing: New applications or updated ones that haven't qualified as stable

All Repositories, with the exception of Server-Testing and (probably) Server-Community do provide only stable packages. We will provide backports of security patches for these packages. Bleeding-Edge packages can still be found in the corresponding Repositories of the base-distribution Arch Linux.

ArchServer uses identified releases, where each release has a specified name. This name is then stored in the directory structure of the repositories as well:

ftp://repo.archserver.org/redgum/server-core/os/i686/ # Redgum Release
ftp://repo.archserver.org/spruce/server-core/os/i686/ # Spruce Release
